Worship
Worship is at the heart of our mission to Glorify God, Grow in Full Devotion to Jesus Christ, and Connect the Unconnected. We offer two unique worship opportunities. The Gathering is our contemporary service which meets in Yancey Hall at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. It is a casual, family friendly service with praise and worship music from our praise team, relevant preaching, multimedia, and often drama, or some other element to help reinforce the message for the day. The Traditional is our service that meets at 10:50 in our sanctuary. During our traditional service you will hear relevant preaching, liturgy, choir anthems and special music, and often handbells and some use of multimedia.
Parking
There are several parking places for you to use: A parking area connected to our Youth and Children’s building that you can enter on East Center Street, a parking lot that you can enter on Main Street that we share with Prime Care Medical Clinic that is next to our sanctuary, and there is parking around our Yancey Fellowship Hall that is located in the back of our main facility on Locust and Market Streets. Additionally, there is a large parking lot which is across the street from the Children’s and Youth Building on Main Street.
Greeters and Ushers
When you first enter the building you will be greeted by the friendly faces of our greeters (they are the ones with the yellow badges) who will welcome you to our church. They will help find where you and your family need to go. Don’t be afraid to ask them questions. When you enter either Yancey Hall or the sanctuary you will be greeted by our ushers who will hand you a worship bulletin for the day.
Welcome Areas
There are information tables set-up in the back of the Sanctuary and next to Yancey Hall for you to get info about what’s going on in the life of our church. Additionally we have a refreshment station set-up in our Wesley Room with coffee and donuts. Ask one of our greeters to help you if you have trouble finding it they would be happy to help.
Nursery
For those with younger children (up to 5) there is a nursery available during the services in our Children’s and Youth Building. Here your kids will be watched by our nursery staff and by volunteers from our congregation. In order to keep all of the children safe you will be asked to sign your children in and out.
Where Do We Go After Worship?
We have a class called The Harbor that is designed for new visitors and members of our church. It meets at 9:45 in room 104 next to the Wesley room. Talk to Pastor Dee or one of our greeters to help you get to the right room. It’s a place to feel welcome and safe and ask questions about God, and it will help you transition into our church and discover new opportunities to learn and be in ministry.
What About Our Kids?
We believe we have one of the most dynamic and exciting children’s ministries in the area. During our Sunday school time we utilize a program called UpStreet. We invite you to visit our children’s ministry area on the website for more information (http://www.searcyfumc.com/content.cfm?id=299)
